Apparently Tesco is to divide its online shoppers into "rich" and "poor" and to tailor its website accordingly. The better off will be tempted with delicacies such as smoked salmon and champagne - whereas the
hard-up will be presented with offers on goods such as baked beans.
It seems to have escaped Tesco's notice that the better-off may well be that way because of their canny way with value goods......
